Privacy Policy

We take your privacy very seriously indeed, and are committed to being transparent about what we do with the information that we collect when operating this web site.

This page will always contain the date when the privacy policy was last updated, so you can see if changes have been made. The most recent update to the privacy policy was on 13th December 2011.

Data we collect

We do not collect any personally identifiable information from you when you use this web site, with the possible exception of your IP address, if you consider that to be personally identifiable information.

Like most sites, when you view a page on this web site, we record that fact on our servers (standard log format - IP address, timestamp, URL, response code, size of data, user agent string, referrer). We use this to work out which pages are most popular, when the site is being used the most and how users navigate around the site. This gives us information which we can use to make the site faster and better.

When you click on a link to an external site, we record the fact that you clicked on that link, and the time that the link was clicked on. We use this data to determine what our users think are the most popular items.

Cookies

Goallines itself does not currently set or retrieve any cookies on your web browser. This might change in the future if we launch new services which need cookies to work. If this does become the case, we will clearly explain what the cookies are that we set, why we set them, and what we do with any data that we collect through their use.

As is typical for most large websites, we use a separate domain for hosting static files such as javascript, stylesheets and images. We do this so you can download pages quicker. For Goallines, this domain is sicdn.com and is powered by Cloudflare. Cloudflare set a cookie on the sicdn.com domain called __cfduid which is necessary for Cloudflare to provide this service.

Third party services that we use do set and retrieve cookies on your web browser. This includes tracking cookies for advertising systems. The Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) provides a page for opting out of behavioural advertising for participating advertising networks, should you wish to do so.

Other websites

When you click on advertisements or links on this site, you may leave that site and go to another site. When you leave our site, a third party (including a third party advertising service that may provide services to an advertiser) may collect data from you, typically similar pieces of data to those which we collect ourselves when you view pages on our site.

We are not responsible for, and do not endorse any company or site, or the contents of any site, that we link to or advertise. We have no control over, we do not review, and our Privacy Policy does not apply to, these other companies or sites.
